The level headed father of Richie Cunningham on the ’70s tv sitcom "Happy Days", Tom Bosley, passed away Tuesday in his Palm Springs, Calif., home. Tom Bosley had just recently celebrated a birthday October 1st.
The performer died of a staph infection, consistent with TMZ, which initially reported his bereavement.
Before discovering prominence on the small screen, Bosley won a Tony for starring as the adored New York City Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia in the Pulitzer-Prize-winning 1959 on Broadway Fiorello. He moreover made a memorable mark in the 1964 Peter Sellers cult hilarious comedy "The World of Henry Orient", as the too-supportive husband of Angela Lansbury’s character.
After Happy Days, he had frequently co-starred with Lansbury on her CBS tv series, Murder She Wrote.
